BOOK REVIEW: Water for Elephants

I absolutely LOVED this novel by Canadian author Sara Gruen. It is a fictional story set at the height of the great depression about a travelling circus. The story is told from the point of view of protagonist Jacob. What’s interesting about this book is that the story boomerangs from present to past. The description and attention to detail is admirable – the author has done extensive research and the story is based on some factual accounts.

The characters are fascinating and likable and the romance is beautifully captured.

I’m sure you’ve all seen the movie with Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson, but if you haven’t read the book yet, it’s worth the read!!

Five stars!!!
